More Than a Place of Recreation: The Heart of Valley Gymnastics

No one can predict the future. Whether they come in the form of obstacles or blessings, life brings us many surprises that force us to react. For Danielle Cerminaro, owner of Valley Gymnastics, her business and the people involved have driven her during the hardest moments of her life.

A Journey Back to New Hartford Danielle was born in Boston, but her father’s military career at Griffiss Air Force Base brought the family to our area when she was just five years old. After graduating from New Hartford High School, Danielle gravitated back to the sport she loved. In July of 2008, she officially became the owner of Valley Gymnastics.

Building Character Through Sport While many of their programs are competitive, Danielle and her staff aim to help children learn at their own pace. They offer unique programs like their "Warrior Training," but the real goal is teaching responsibility, accountability, and teamwork.

A Community of Support Four years ago, the Valley Gymnastics family was changed forever when Danielle was diagnosed with breast cancer. The kids took it upon themselves to step up, telling her, "We want to help you because you’ve always taught us to help everyone else." This inspiration led to the creation of the Valley Kids Care Foundation, a non-profit that has already assisted 14 local families facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
